About Us
Back in 2010 Kimmey Goodson started Loudon County Friends of Animals. In 2012 we started working with her. Several years later Nicole Ferrara became the Vice President at her rescue. In late August of 2024 Kimmey tragically lost her life. Instead of rolling over LCFOA to Nicole we decided on starting the paperwork fresh along with a name change to better reflect the communities we service. This was done with the full support of Kimmey's husband, and we will continue to honor her legacy. She taught us well and instilled a great passion and love for rescue.
Why we are different
Our rescue does not take from the general public. We only take cats directly from local shelters to help them reduce the need to euthanize for space.
Many of our pulling partner shelters are able to maintain no kill statuses thanks in part from help like ours. We dream of a day when we are not needed, but until then we will soldier on.
Our imagination
You may have been brought here by a flyer, a social media post, an advert, or word of mouth. We are always looking for new members with unique skills to join our team. If you have a passion for rescue and a strong sense of community then we would love to meet you.
We envision our future as a bright one welcoming in new technology to get out message to the people. The rescue is alive and well in East TN!
